Girija Sankar Patnaik, born on 17 October 1953, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1980 batch of the A G M U T cadre. He holds a postgraduate diploma in Social Work, a graduate degree in History, and a postgraduate degree in Development Studies. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Secretary to the Vice President (Additional Equivalent), Additional Secretary, Deputy Collector, Vice Chairman (Additional Secretary Equivalent), Managing Director, Joint Secretary, Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor, Commissioner & Secretary, Divisional Commissioner, Director, Project Director, and Principal Secretary. His most recent role was Principal Secretary in the Finance Department from 29 to 31 October 2013.
