B Mahapatra, born on 26 October 1932, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1983 batch, Odisha cadre. He holds a postgraduate degree in Economics. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Assistant Settlement Officer, Charge Officer, Sub-Divisional Officer, Under Secretary, Junior Scale, Project Officer, Deputy Secretary, and Junior Scale. His most recent position was Joint Secretary in the Finance Department from 1 July 1987 to 1 October 1990. Mr. Mahapatra's extensive experience spans multiple administrative roles within the Odisha cadre.
