I R Perumal, born on 25 July 1952, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1982 Karnataka cadre. He holds a postgraduate degree in History. Over his career, he served in various capacities including Commissioner, Director, Managing Director, Secretary, Registrar, Joint Secretary, Deputy Commissioner, and Chief Secretary. His most recent position was Principal Secretary at Bangalore, Karnataka, in the Youth Services Department from 19 June 2010 to 31 July 2012. Throughout his service, he contributed to multiple departments and held numerous leadership roles before retiring from the IAS.
