Tapas Chowdhury, born on June 10, 1962, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 2006 batch, West Bengal cadre. During his service, he held the position of Joint Municipal Commissioner in the Urban Development Department starting July 1, 2016. He has also served as a District Magistrate. His career in the IAS reflects his commitment to public administration within West Bengal.
