Shunchonngam J. Chiru, born on 30 January 1973, is a 1999 batch IAS officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre. He holds a B.A. degree and is proficient in English, Hindi, and Manipuri. Currently, he serves as the Principal Secretary at Tamil Nadu's Transport Department since 1 August 2025. Throughout his career, he has held various positions including Commissioner, Principal Secretary to Government, Director, OSD to Minister, Deputy Secretary, Executive Director, District Collector, Project Director, Assistant Collector, and Additional Commissioner. He continues to serve in the Indian Administrative Service.
