Bandana Preyashi, born on 21 February 1974, is a 2003 batch IAS officer of the Bihar cadre. She holds a B.A., M.A., and M.Phil. in English Literature from Delhi University. Currently, she serves as Secretary in the Social Welfare Department, Bihar, a position she has held since 14 April 2025. Throughout her career, she has held various roles including Sub-Divisional Officer, District Collector and Magistrate, Commissioner, Managing Director, Director, Deputy Secretary, Joint Secretary, Officer on Special Duty to Minister, and Secretary. She is proficient in English and Hindi and continues to serve in the Indian Administrative Service.
