Ashok Barnwal, born on January 27, 1967, is a 1991 batch IAS officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre. He holds a graduate degree in Mining Engineering (B.E.) and a postgraduate diploma. Currently serving as the Additional Chief Secretary in the Forest and Wild Life Department since July 1, 2024, Barnwal has held multiple key positions including Principal Secretary, Secretary, Managing Director, Commissioner & Secretary, Director, Additional Secretary, Mission Coordinator, and District Collector. Proficient in English and Hindi, he continues to contribute to the Indian Administrative Service with extensive experience across various administrative roles.
