Vivek Kumar, born on 21 February 1966, is a 1990 batch IAS officer of the West Bengal cadre. He holds an M.A. and is currently serving as the District Magistrate-cum-DEO at Uttar Dinajpur since 23 March 2026. Throughout his career, he has held various key positions including Principal Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Officer on Special Duty, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Director, and District Magistrate. He has been recognized with the Directors Gold Medal for Best Officer in Extra Curricular Activities and the Best Debut Album award for "Prayaas," a music album he composed. He is proficient in English and Hindi.
