Vivek Joshi, born on 21 May 1966, is a 1989 batch IAS officer of the Haryana cadre. He holds a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Roorkee, a PG Diploma in International Business from IIFT New Delhi, and an M.A. in International Economics from the University of Geneva. Currently, he serves as the Chief Secretary at Chandigarh since 4 November 2024 under the Government of Haryana. His past roles include Secretary and Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India, CEO, Principal Resident Commissioner, Principal Secretary to Government, Divisional Commissioner, Joint Secretary, Deputy Commissioner, and various other administrative positions. He is proficient in English, French, and Hindi.
