Vishal Gagan, born on 24 July 1974, is a 1998 batch IAS officer of the Odisha cadre. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and is proficient in English, Hindi, and Odia. Currently serving as Secretary at the Central Information Commission in New Delhi since 1 April 2026, Vishal has held various positions including Special Secretary, Managing Director, Joint Secretary, Director, District Collector and Magistrate, Executive Officer, Deputy Secretary, Additional Secretary, Commissioner, and Private Secretary to Ministers. He continues to serve in the Indian Administrative Service with a diverse administrative portfolio.
