Chief Electoral Officer, General Administration Department (GAD), Gujarat
Vinod Kumar Babbar, born on June 8, 1953, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1975 Gujarat cadre. He holds a graduate degree in Physics and a postgraduate qualification in National Development. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including District Collector, Municipal Commissioner, Deputy Municipal Commissioner, Chief General Manager, Member Secretary, Secretary, and Principal Secretary. Notably, he was the Chief Electoral Officer of Gujarat from September 30, 2008, to February 28, 2009. His service was primarily associated with the General Administration Department. Babbar’s extensive administrative experience spans multiple key roles within the Gujarat state government.
