Vijay Ranchan, born on October 1, 1942, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1967 Gujarat cadre. He holds a postgraduate degree in English Literature and a graduate degree in Political Science. Over his career, he served in various capacities including District Collector, Deputy Secretary, Commissioner, Secretary, Managing Director, Additional Chief Secretary, and Chairman. His most recent role was Principal Secretary in the General Administration Department, Gujarat, from October 1, 2001, to July 1, 2002. Ranchan’s extensive service reflects a diverse administrative experience within the Gujarat state government.
