Vijay Prakash, a 1986 batch IAS officer from the Uttar Pradesh cadre, was born on July 1, 1944. He holds a graduate degree and served in various capacities including Commissioner, Joint Development Commissioner, District Magistrate, Additional Director, Assistant Commissioner, District Collector and Magistrate, and Vice Chairperson. His most recent posting was as Commissioner at Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, from September 26, 2003, to June 30, 2004. He also served as Director of Census Operations in the Land Revenue Department. Vijay Prakash is now retired from the Indian Administrative Service.
