Varun Roojam, born on 27 July 1978, is an IAS officer of the 2004 Punjab cadre. He holds a B.E. and M.A. from Punjab University, Chandigarh. Currently, he serves as the Administrative Secretary in the Transport Department of Punjab since April 2025. His previous roles include Assistant Commissioner, Taxation Commissioner, Commissioner of Excise, Managing Director, Director Excise & Taxation, Chief Administrator, Deputy Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, and Excise Commissioner. He was awarded the Census Silver Medal for his service during the 2011 Census of India. He is proficient in English, Hindi, and Punjabi.
