Dr. Varun Nath Maira, born on 18 October 1952, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1975 Gujarat cadre. He holds a Graduate degree in Economics, a Postgraduate degree in Economics, and an M.Phil. in Economics. Over his career, he served in various capacities including District Collector, Deputy Secretary, Joint Secretary, Secretary, Commissioner, Managing Director, Additional Development Commissioner, and Principal Secretary (Planning). His most recent position was Additional Chief Secretary at Gandhinagar, Gujarat, in the General Administration Department from 3 August 2010 to 31 October 2012.
