Varinder Kumar Sharma, born on 30 June 1973, is an Indian Administrative Service officer of the 2009 batch, Punjab cadre. He holds a B.E. degree from Punjab University, Chandigarh. Currently, he serves as Secretary in the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Punjab, a position he has held since 25 February 2025. Throughout his career, Sharma has held various roles including Special Secretary, Director, Joint Secretary, Managing Director, Deputy Commissioner, and Additional Commissioner. He is proficient in Punjabi and continues to serve in the IAS.
