Vandana Gurnani, an IAS officer of the 1991 Karnataka cadre, was born on 15 July 1966. She holds a postgraduate degree and an MPH from Johns Hopkins University. Currently serving as Secretary in the Ministry of Labour and Employment since 18 April 2025, she has held various key positions including Additional Chief Secretary, Additional Secretary, Joint Secretary, Resident Commissioner Director, Director, Project Director, Deputy Project Director, Deputy Commissioner, Chief Executive Officer, Deputy Secretary, Managing Director, Assistant Commissioner, and Secretary (Coordination). She is proficient in English and Hindi and continues to serve in the Indian Administrative Service.
