V V R Subbarao, born on December 9, 1941, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1965 Gujarat cadre. He holds graduate degrees in Law, Postgraduate degrees in Economics and Public Administration. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Assistant Collector, Under Secretary, Deputy Secretary, District Collector, Director, Commissioner, Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, and Managing Director. His most recent position was Principal Secretary in the Home Department of Gujarat from June 1, 2000, to December 31, 2001. Subbarao’s extensive service reflects a broad administrative experience within the Gujarat state government.
