Dr. V S Niranjan, a 1990 batch IAS officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre, served in the Indian Administrative Service until retirement. Born on December 2, 1954, he holds a Ph.D., postgraduate, and graduate degrees in science. His career encompassed various key roles including Principal Secretary, Commissioner & Secretary, Joint Secretary, Secretary, Managing Director, Director, Additional Secretary, and Executive Director. He also held multiple District Collector and District Magistrate positions. Dr. Niranjan's most recent appointment was as Commissioner in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, from August 12 to December 31, 2014, within the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment.
