V Ranganathan, born on 23 September 1942, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1965 Maharashtra cadre. He holds graduate and postgraduate degrees in Chemistry. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Assistant Collector, CEO, District Collector, Under Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Additional Commissioner, Managing Director, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Principal Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, and Municipal Commissioner. His most recent position was Chief Secretary to the Government of Maharashtra. V Ranganathan's extensive experience spans multiple administrative roles within the Maharashtra state government.
