V K Shanmugam, born on September 8, 1955, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 2001 batch, Tamil Nadu cadre. He served in various capacities including District Collector and Commissioner. His most recent designation was District Collector Director at Erode, Tamil Nadu, from January 1, 2014, to September 30, 2015. He also held the position of Director of Census Operations in the Land Revenue Department. Throughout his career, Shanmugam contributed to the administrative framework of Tamil Nadu before retiring from service.
