V Gunalan, born on January 15, 1945, is a retired IAS officer from the 1984 Tamil Nadu cadre. He holds graduate degrees in Civil Engineering and Mathematics. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including District Collector, Joint Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and Managing Director. His extensive experience spans roles such as Director, Additional Director, Commissioner, Controller, General Manager, and Regional Director. He was the Commissioner and Director of the Agriculture Department from January 1, 2001, to January 31, 2005.
