V Candavelou, born on 26 October 1971, is an Indian Administrative Service officer of the 1997 batch from the A G M U T cadre. He holds a B.V.Sc. from Madras Veterinary College, an LL.B. from Delhi University, and an M.V.Sc. in Parasitology from IVRI Bareilly. Currently, he serves as the Chief Secretary at Goa since 8 November 2024. His extensive career includes multiple roles such as Principal Secretary, Commissioner & Secretary, Chief Electoral Officer, and District Collector. He has received awards for promoting startups in Andaman & Nicobar Islands and for excellence in electoral practices in Puducherry. He is proficient in Hindi and Tamil.
