Throughout his career, he held various positions such as Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, Additional Secretary, Joint Secretary, Managing Director, Chairman, Commissioner, Director, Deputy Commissioner, and Assistant Commissioner. He received the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration, Citizen Extraordinary Award (2008), Silver Award for transport reforms in Bangalore, and the International Gold Star Millennium Award.
