Umesh C Sarangi, born on February 5, 1952, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1977 Maharashtra cadre. He holds postgraduate and graduate degrees in Botany. Throughout his career, he has served in various capacities including Chairman, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Commissioner, Registrar, Divisional Commissioner, Secretary in multiple departments, Director, District Collector, Chief Executive Officer, and Sub-Divisional Officer. His most recent position was Additional Secretary at Maharashtra. Sarangi's extensive experience spans administrative and leadership roles within the state government until his retirement.
