Umashankar Mondal, born on April 9, 1954, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1996 batch, West Bengal cadre. During his career, he held multiple positions including Joint Secretary and Secretary. His most recent appointment was as Secretary in the Environment Department from January 2, 2013, to April 30, 2014. Throughout his service, he contributed to various administrative roles before retiring from the IAS.
