U C Rane, born on 15 December 1942, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1990 batch of the Gujarat cadre. He holds a postgraduate degree in Economics. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Under Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Additional Registrar, District Development Officer, Director, and Secretary to the Governor. His most recent position was Secretary at Gujarat from 9 May 2001 to 31 December 2002, within the Department of Higher Education. Mr. Rane’s extensive service reflects his commitment to administrative roles in the Gujarat state government.
