Thara D, born on July 3, 1971, is a 1995 batch Indian Administrative Service officer from the Gujarat cadre. She holds a Graduate degree in Zoology, an M.Sc. in Biotechnology, and an Executive Masters in Public Administration from Maxwell, Syracuse, USA. Currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, New Delhi (since December 6, 2021), her past roles include Joint Secretary, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Municipal Commissioner, and District Collector, among others. She is proficient in English, Tamil, and Gujarati. Thara D continues to serve in the Indian Administrative Service.
