Tanmay Chakrabarty, born on 24 September 1980, is an Indian Administrative Service officer from the 2006 batch, West Bengal cadre. He holds a B.Sc. degree from Calcutta University. Currently, he serves as the Director of the ESI Scheme, Labour Department since 18 November 2019. His previous roles include Joint Secretary, District Collector and Magistrate, Additional District Magistrate, Officer on Special Duty to Minister, Under Secretary, Sub Divisional Officer, Executive Magistrate, Assistant Collector and Magistrate, and Managing Director. He is proficient in Bengali and English. Tanmay Chakrabarty continues to serve in the IAS.
