Syed Z Hussain, born on 15 June 1940, is a retired IAS officer from the 1982 batch of the West Bengal cadre. He holds postgraduate qualifications in English and a law degree (LL.B.). Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including District Magistrate, Additional District Magistrate, Joint Secretary, and Special Secretary. His most recent position was as a Member in the Social Justice and Empowerment Department from 1 January 2000 to 30 June 2000. Syed Z Hussain’s extensive administrative experience reflects his long-standing commitment to public service within the Indian Administrative Service.
