Susanta Majumdar, born on December 5, 1953, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1996 batch, West Bengal cadre. Throughout his career, he held various positions including Joint Secretary, Additional Secretary, Special Secretary, and Secretary. His service culminated as Secretary of the Consumer Affairs Department from October 21, 2013, to December 31, 2013. Prior roles also included Director and Additional District Magistrate. Majumdar’s extensive experience in administrative roles reflects his long-standing commitment to public service within the Indian Administrative Service.
