Suresh Kumar, born on April 4, 1956, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1983 Punjab cadre. He holds postgraduate degrees in Commerce and Social Policy & Planning from the UK, along with a Diploma in Banking. Over his career, he served in various capacities including Deputy Commissioner, Joint Executive Taxation Commissioner, Sub-Divisional Officer, Deputy Secretary, Private Secretary, Consultant Deputy Secretary Equivalent, Registrar, Managing Director, Commissioner, Administrator, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Secretary, Chairman, and Principal Secretary. His most recent position was Secretary at Punjab, commencing on August 28, 2013.
