Suresh Kumar, born on 27 May 1959, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1986 Jammu & Kashmir cadre. He holds an M.A. in Economics from the University of Manchester, a B.Sc. in Agriculture from HP Agriculture University, and a PG Diploma in Forestry. His most recent role was Additional Secretary in the Coal Department from October 2016 to April 2019. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Joint Secretary, Principal Secretary, Commissioner & Secretary, Director, Deputy Commissioner, and Managing Director. He received the Chief Minister’s Gold Medal for Honesty, Integrity, and Meritorious Public Service, and a Silver Medal for election contributions.
