Sunil Barthwal, born on 20 September 1965, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1989 Bihar cadre. He holds graduate and postgraduate degrees in Economics. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including District Collector and District Magistrate, Managing Director, Deputy Commissioner, Additional Secretary, Director, Commissioner, Provident Fund Commissioner, and Officer on Special Duty. His most recent position was Secretary at the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, New Delhi, from 1 October 2022 to 30 September 2025. He is proficient in English and Hindi.
