Suman Chandra, an IAS officer of the 2010 Maharashtra cadre batch, was born on 10 May 1984. She holds a B.A. and M.A. in Philosophy from Delhi University and a postgraduate degree in Environmental Science from Yale University. Currently serving as Director at the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, New Delhi since 20 January 2024, she has held various positions including Chief Executive Officer, Sub-Divisional Officer, Deputy Secretary, Managing Director, District Collector and Magistrate, and Assistant Resident Commissioner. She is proficient in English, Hindi, and Marathi and remains in active service.
