Subash Chandra, born on 22 December 1959, is a retired IAS officer from the 1986 Karnataka cadre. He served in the Indian Administrative Service with a focus on Defence Production. His most recent position was Secretary from 23 August 2019 to 31 December 2019. Throughout his career, he held various roles including Special Secretary Equivalent, Additional Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Joint Secretary, Secretary, Special Commissioner, Executive Director, Director Equivalent, Deputy Secretary, Chairman and Managing Director, Deputy Commissioner, Chief Secretary, Administrator, and Assistant Commissioner. He holds postgraduate degrees in Modern Indian History and Governance & Development, and a graduate degree in English.
