Subarta Mitra, born on March 6, 1942, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1984 batch, West Bengal cadre. He holds an LL.B. in Law and a postgraduate degree in English. During his career, he served in the Finance Department, most recently as Special Secretary from March 1, 2001, to March 31, 2002. Prior to this, he held positions including Joint Secretary and Additional Executive Officer. His tenure in the IAS reflects a dedicated service within the administrative framework of West Bengal.
