Soumya Purkait, born on 25 December 1967, is an Indian Administrative Service officer from the 2008 batch, West Bengal cadre. He holds a B.Sc. degree and has served in various capacities including Commissioner, Additional Secretary, Senior Special Secretary, and Principal Secretary. Since 26 April 2021, he has been serving as the Senior Special Secretary in the State Gazetteers department. Currently in service, Soumya Purkait continues to contribute to the administration of West Bengal through his role in the State Gazetteers.
