Sonal Mishra, a 1997 batch IAS officer of the Gujarat cadre, currently serves as Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) at the Ministry of Labour and Employment, New Delhi, since December 31, 2025. Born on August 30, 1972, she holds a B.A. Honors in Economics and an LL.B. from the University of Delhi, and an M.B.A. in Finance from Manipal University. Her past roles include Additional Secretary, Commissioner, Secretary to Government, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Managing Director, Director, District Collector, and Municipal Commissioner. She has received multiple awards, including the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration 2024 and the International Stockholm Challenge Award.
