Somesh Kumar, born on December 22, 1963, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1989 batch of the Andhra Pradesh cadre. He holds a graduate and postgraduate degree in Psychology. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including District Collector and Magistrate, Commissioner, Joint Secretary, Regional Director, Managing Director, and Special Chief Secretary. His most recent position was Chief Secretary to the Government in the Chief Minister's Secretariat from January 1 to March 31, 2020. He also held roles such as Principal Secretary to Government and was involved in foreign assignments during his service.
