A graduate by education, he served in various capacities including District Collector and Magistrate, Deputy Development Commissioner, Director, Additional Secretary, Special Secretary, Secretary, and Divisional Commissioner. His most recent position was Secretary in the Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare Department at Ranchi, Jharkhand, from 3 May 2007 to 31 July 2008. Throughout his career, he contributed to the administration of Jharkhand state until his retirement.
