Shyam Sunder, born on 21 December 1933, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1980 batch of the Uttar Pradesh cadre. He holds graduate and postgraduate degrees in Commerce. Over his career, he served in various capacities including Junior Scale, Deputy Secretary, Deputy Director, Managing Director, Joint Secretary, Commissioner, and District Collector. His most recent position was District Collector and Magistrate at Garhwal, Uttar Pradesh, from June 1990 to December 1991.
