Shyam Arjunrao Tagade, born on December 4, 1962, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1991 Maharashtra cadre. He holds a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Nagpur University VRCE Nagpur, a Graduate degree in Sociology, and an M.A. in Pali from Mumbai University. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Principal Secretary to Government Secretary at Mumbai, Secretary, Managing Director, Director, Chairman, Additional Commissioner, CEO, and Assistant Collector. He was associated with the Department of Backward Classes and Minority Welfare. He received the Barrister Math Pai Award for best literature for his book "Bodhisatva Ambedkaranche Buddha Dhamma Mission."
