Shankar Agarwal, born on 22 September 1956, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1980 batch, Uttar Pradesh cadre. He holds an M.Tech. in Computer Technology and a B.E. in Electronics Engineering. Over his career, he served in various capacities including Secretary, Special Secretary, Additional Secretary, Joint Secretary, Principal Secretary, Commissioner, Managing Director, Chief Vigilance Officer, District Collector and Magistrate, and General Manager. His most recent position was Secretary of the Department of Labour and Employment from 3 February 2015 to 30 September 2016.
