Dr. Shamla Iqbal, an IAS officer of the 2002 batch from the Karnataka cadre, was born on May 20, 1973. She holds a Graduate degree, M.Sc., and a Ph.D. Throughout her career, she has served in various capacities including Commissioner, Project Director, Joint Director, Director, Executive Officer, Additional Director, Sub-Divisional Officer, Assistant Commissioner, and Secretary. Currently, she is the Secretary at Karnataka in the Department of Women and Child Development and Empowerment of Differently Abled and Senior Citizen, a position she has held since June 18, 2025. She is proficient in English, Hindi, and Malayalam.
