Shahmeena Husain, an IAS officer of the 1997 Gujarat cadre, was born on March 6, 1972. She holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Zoology and a P.G. degree in Fishery Science from Barkatulla University, Bhopal. Currently, she serves as the Principal Secretary to Government in the Narmada, Water Resources, Water Supply and Kalpsar Department at Gandhinagar since November 2, 2023. Her previous roles include Commissioner & Principal Secretary, Managing Director, Director (Administration), District Collector, and District Development Officer. She has received awards for the implementation of the State Organ & Tissue Transplant Organisation and as Best Collector and Best District Development Officer
