Shahmeena Husain, an IAS officer of the 1997 Gujarat cadre, was born on March 6, 1972. She holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Zoology and a postgraduate degree in Fishery Science from Barkatulla University, Bhopal. Currently, she serves as Principal Secretary to the Government in the Narmada, Water Resources, Water Supply and Kalpsar Department at Gandhinagar since November 2, 2023. Her past roles include Commissioner & Principal Secretary, Managing Director, Director (Administration), District Collector, and Deputy Secretary. She has received awards such as Best Collector and Best District Development Officer. She is proficient in English, Hindi, Urdu, and Gujarati.
