Shahid Iqbal, born on March 5, 1980, is a 2009 batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre. He holds a B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree from SKUAST-J Jammu and a Diploma in Forestry from IGNFA Dehradun. Currently, he serves as Commissioner/Secretary in the Department of Youth Services and Sports, J&K, a position he has held since February 23, 2026. His previous roles include Secretary to the Government and Administrative Secretary. Shahid Iqbal is proficient in English and continues to serve in the Indian Administrative Service.
