Saurabh Rao, an IAS officer of the 2003 Maharashtra cadre batch, was born on April 20, 1975. He holds a B.A. and M.A. and is currently serving as the Municipal Commissioner at Thane since March 22, 2024. Throughout his career, he has held multiple positions including Municipal Commissioner, District Collector, Chief Executive Officer, Assistant Collector, and Divisional Commissioner. He received the Special Award from the Election Commission of India for the 2014 Parliamentary Election and the Best Collector Award for 2011-12 for his effective implementation of public schemes. He is proficient in English and Hindi.
