Saumya Gupta, born on October 2, 1978, is a 2004 batch IAS officer of the Tripura cadre. She holds a B.Com from Devi Ahilya University, Indore, and a PG Diploma in Journalism from Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan, Delhi. Currently, she serves as Joint Secretary in the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education, New Delhi (since November 29, 2021). Her past roles include Chief Electoral Officer, Secretary to Government, Special Resident Commissioner, Director, Vice Chairperson, Managing Director, Deputy Commissioner, District Collector and Magistrate, Commissioner (Taxes), and Officer on Special Duty. She has received the Prime Minister Award for Excellence/Innovation. She is proficient
