Santanu Basu, born on September 11, 1974, is a 2000 batch IAS officer of the West Bengal cadre. He holds an M.A. degree and is currently serving as Secretary in the Information and Cultural Affairs Department since April 12, 2023. Throughout his career, he has held various positions including Additional Chief Secretary, Managing Director, Commissioner, District Magistrate, Deputy Secretary, Joint Secretary to the Chief Minister, and Principal Secretary. Basu is proficient in Bengali, English, and Hindi. He continues to serve in the Indian Administrative Service with a diverse portfolio across administrative and executive roles.
